Quality dental care, accessible for all
East River Dental proudly participates in the CDCP — helping more Canadians access the dental care they deserve.
What is the CDCP?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program providing dental coverage to eligible Canadians who don't have access to private dental insurance.
Launched in 2024 and phasing in coverage through 2025, the plan aims to provide essential dental care to millions of Canadians who previously couldn't afford it.
East River Dental participates fully in the CDCP, allowing eligible patients to receive covered treatments with direct billing — no complex paperwork for you.

Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for the CDCP?
You apply through the Government of Canada's My Account portal or by calling Service Canada at 1-833-537-4342. Once approved, you'll receive a welcome kit with your coverage details.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
East River Dental bills the CDCP directly. You may have a co-payment depending on your income level — we'll walk you through your specific coverage before treatment.
Is the CDCP available for children?
Yes. The CDCP covers eligible Canadians of all ages, including children. Previously, children under 12 were covered under the Canada Dental Benefit — the CDCP has now expanded this.
What if I already have insurance?
If you have private dental insurance, you are not eligible for the CDCP. However, if your private insurance only covers a portion of costs, you may still qualify.
How do I know what's covered?
Once enrolled, the CDCP website and app show your coverage details. Our team will also review your benefits at every appointment to maximize your care.
