Playgrounds are the most common place where children meet dental emergencies which result in loose teeth or extraoral/intraoral trauma. Dental problems can also arise from cavities or cracked teeth. Before taking your child to a dentist, you can try some home remedies to see if they get relief.
1. Brush And Floss
If you child complains of pain in the tooth, you should immediately brush their teeth and floss on the sides of the tooth that are sore. This will remove all the food particles stuck between the teeth.
2. Clove Oil
If you cannot immediately head to a kids dentist in Newmarket, try clove oil therapy. As clove oil is a natural anesthetic, it can numb the affected area and alleviates a toothache instantly. Just dab a cotton ball in a little drop of clove oil and place the ball on the tooth area that is a pain for relief.
3. Warm Salt Water
Add half a spoon of salt in a glass of lukewarm water and swish your child’s mouth with it. Ask him to rinse his mouth and spit the solution afterward. This will help fight the bacteria causing infection and will heal inflammation.
4. Over-The-Counter Medications
Another remedy for making the toothache bearable is over-the-counter medications. Give your child Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain relief.
